I joined Awdry Bailey & Douglas in August 2014 after just finishing my LLB Law Degree.
During my initial interview for a legal secretary position which was set up through a recruitment agency, I was informed that there were no jobs currently available.
However, shortly after my interview I was called by the practice manager who informed me that while there were no legal secretary jobs available, they had a receptionist position in the firm’s Marlborough office which I accepted.
Since joining Awdry Bailey & Douglas I have gradually progressed first from receptionist to legal secretary and then to trainee fee earner.
While working at Awdry Bailey & Douglas I also expressed my wish to return to university to study the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and the firm fully supported me in this. After applying for my LPC I was informed that the firm would be offering me a training contract to coincide with my LPC.
I am now a trainee solicitor in the conveyancing department in our Devizes office and I am due to qualify as a solicitor in November 2018. I am also halfway through my LPC which the firm are still continually supportive of.
Awdry Bailey & Douglas are an exemplary firm to work for as they are mindful and supportive of individuals who wish to progress both within the firm and with further education.
