I joined the firm in 1998 as a secretary to the senior Partner at the time whilst undergoing my ILEX studying. Within 18 months I was working as an assistant in the residential property department, having taken an interest in property law whilst studying.
After working in the department as an assistant for approximately a year I was asked to become a full time fee earner and have my own caseload. The prospect at the time was daunting but the Partners were very supportive and that is where my journey really began.
I started work on my own files with support and encouragement and thoroughly enjoy the interaction with both outside agencies and more importantly, the clients. I worked full time and continued with my ILEX studies fully supported by the firm and eventually qualified as a legal executive.
After a few successful years I was asked to be the head of department. Again, this was unnerving at the time however I received nothing but encouragement from the management board who showed faith in my abilities leading to me taking up the post and eventually in 2016 I became a Partner in the firm.
I have a fantastic department and now actively encourage and give young people the same support and encouragement I've had throughout my career.
